Things To Do In Texas: Round Top Antique Festival

Happy Happy Friday! Super stoked the weekend is finally here. This week was a s-l-o-w one! At least I was able to have some fun with my mom and little sister yesterday. We went to the Round Top Antique Festival, and had a blast goin’ junkin’ as everyone says.

We’re lucky enough to only live about two hours away from the festival. Which means it’s just a day trip for us. I’m hoping that one year we can stay up there for a day or two. Now you’re probably thinking, why would you need more than a day? Well because there are MILES of shopping. We’ve done this for three years now, and have still not hit all the spots along this stretch of road. If you want to see what I’m talking about, here is their site with tons of helpful information. Antique Weekend

This festival happens twice a year. Once in March/April and September. However, when we went back in September it was just to hot. This time the weather was perfect. There was also some beautiful scenery for the drive. The Texas wildflowers are all in full bloom. That means fields of our beautiful state flower, the bluebonnet. I’m sure if you follow other Texans, you have seen family pictures with them. It’s a tradition for everyone.

Once we arrived we hit as many places as we could before our feet refused to go on. Here are some of the neat things we saw.

Here are the items I actually bought.

I’ve been collecting Ball mason jars for a few years now. I found another one to add to my collection yesterday.

I found these at one of the tents that were set up. I thought they would look cute in Sadie’s room. I figured she could just put little trinkets in them, or have a tea party with her dolls.

I’ve been wanting one of these for months. I finally found one the perfect size for my kitchen. I can’t wait to decorate it.

I just fell in love with this table linen when I saw it. It’s so simple and pretty. I have no clue what I’m going to do with it yet though.

I bought this old tire wheel to make another wreath. I loved the way the one for Sadie’s room came out. This one will be going on our front door.

Of course we had to by these outfits when we found them. They were to cute to pass up.

This is a Mother’s Day present for my sister. She’s JJ’s godmother so I always buy her a little something for the holiday. She is a HUGE Disney fan. I thought this would be a nice little addition to her collection.

Well that was our little road trip to Round Top. We all came back with some new treasured pieces. Sadie also has two antique shows under her belt. She’ll be a pro by the time she’s three.

If this is something you would like to do, give this a pin!
