Hey everyone! I hope you’re having a fantastic day. I know we are at the Baker house. The boys were able to have a sleep over with the grandparents last night. Which means we only have one kiddo right now. It’s been a very relaxing morning.
While I have some free time I wanted to share with you my favorite thing to bake with the boys. Now even though I am a Baker by name, I am definitely not a baker by trade. I’ve messed up a box cake before. But I am pretty good at making banana bread surprisingly. I always enlist the kids when I make it. They love smashing up the bananas and pouring in all the ingredients. I love them to help because I can then say, “Well the kids did help,” if it turns out badly. So win for everyone!
This is what you’ll need for this recipe.
Before the boys join me in the kitchen I measure everything out. Prepping saves me from kids losing interest and melt downs while they wait for me to measure.
First we mashed up the bananas.
Once the bananas were mashed, the boys took turns pouring in the other ingredients.
Then of course the fun part, mixing everything up.
This time I decided to make bread instead of muffins.
I pop it in the oven at 350 for 50 minutes. Sometime I do have to do an extra 10 minutes.
The boys enjoyed their afternoon snack that day.
Here’s the recipe if you would like to try it with your kiddos.
- 2 cups of flour
- 1 cups of sugar
- 1 cups of chocolate chips
- 2 eggs
- 3 bananas
- 1 cup oil
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 2 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
1. Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees.
2. Mash up the bananas.
3. Pour in all the other ingredients.
4. Stir it all up.
5. Then pour everything into a bread pan or muffin tins.
5. If you’re making bread it will bake for 50 minutes. If you’re doing muffins it will bake for 17 – 20 minutes.
6. Let it cool and enjoy!
Don’t forget to give this a pin so you can try it with your littles!
